No 2-Way Password Encyption?

We're trying to set up a bunch of MACs (G3's and iMAC's mostly) to run Successmaker (the actual application software probably doesn't matter) off a NOVELL 6 server and in order to do this we want to have password Encryption working but they will only work with Clear Text passwords turned on with the server.  Is there anyway of manipulating the nature of the passwords on the MAC side of things?  The network guys are trying it from the server end of things using scripts but I wondered if there weren't something on the MAC end of things. . .MAC Client is not an option as we're trying to do this on a TCP/IP basis only.

We're shooting for OS 9.x but OS 8.6 would seem to work almost as well!

No. Password encryption MUST be supported by the server. If it is not supported by the server, nothing you do on the client end will make it work.

If you wish to use a Novell server to serve Mac shares, and you want password encryption, I believe you must purchase an add-on for your Novell server to do so.

Thanks, that was the suspicion around here but it's nice to have someone else say so!  The network guys are working on scripts and things to handle it!
