Doing a SEARCH on TS

In the next few days or so, until we move to the new software, you may not be able to successfully search the archives from this BB. If you think the thread or info you want may have been discussed in the last few months you can check the Macintosh forum on the UBB Search page accessed via the button at the top of the page.

Then, to do a thorough search over the last 2 1/2 years, go to  Archives  which is where you can select the Search button there for a very comprehensive search of previous earlier threads.

This archived forum should be available except possibly during the actual period during which the main board will be moved to the new software. When will that be? Anytime, now, we are just waiting for our 'helper' to show up.

Pffff! I have trouble finding anything from the last five days!
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

It's such a pain for me to do searches anyways...  Usually takes about 2+ minutes to do a search.  Doesn't matter what browser I use!  Everything else on TS is super fast for me though.  is that normal?

Thanks for that, Kris.

Hi Jay.
I use the search function quite a bit, both the current Mac forum and archives.
The time a search takes is the thing that varies most for me according to the time of day (not that I know why). So often I do it in the morning when my own overall connection to US-based sites seems faster and get on with something else while search does its magic.

Jay , yes, searches are often time consuming sometimes depending on what and how many terms you are using. The UBB search has always been a snore for me.

I did notice that the new Archives seemed to be much quicker. I did a two word search yesterday and within 10-15 seconds (on dialup) I had three pages of threads retrieved. I was amazed at the speed. I hope this is typical of the new setup.

Gregg , I think something is not set properly for the Macintosh forum search. With the move it should all straighten out.

I hope.

Do I see double, nay, triple meanings everywhere?
No, no, 'twas but the world wide web we were talking about. One repeated mistake I make is to want to download hefty software when America's awake. So ... impatient!
