Ever since I updated to iLife 06, my iDVD buttons on the themes wont let me choose different ones. It also won't let me move the film about the main screen although it says it is "free positioning". Rather wish I hadn't updated now.

Also, if you try out other themes, it loses the original downloaded film and denies all knowledge of its existence.

I want my old iDVD back? Where will I find it on the install disks?

Any ideas?

I experienced the same regret with iMovie and iDVD 6.  I trashed the programs and preferences, and did a custom install of iDVD and iMovie 5.  The both work fine.  If you need to get the progrsms from the original install disks, try the software restore disk.  That'll probably put the programs back for you.

Does anyone really think that Apple designed it that way?

Is anyone prepared to concede that they, or their mangled computer, may be at fault?

Or that 99% of users have no problems at all?

I admit that one was my fault - was in wrong theme!  I have sorted this now!

This still happens!  So for that one, I blame Apple.

Frances, I would like to make it clear that I was not attacking you personally!  

I was merely making a general observation that the greater part of Tiger and iLife6 users do not experience these or any other problems.

But there is one iDVD theme that does not work, but I forget which one, other than it is one of the widescreen ones!

I have just received David Pogue's "iMovie 6 and iDVD6 - The Missing Manual", and even a cursury read tells me that both programmes have so much more to offer than Apple ever bother telling users about. Apple can be very arrogant that way, which I consider a self-defeating marketing ploy.

There is not, I believe, any such thing as 'free positioning' of the movie on the screen, this refers to the buttons within the themes. Or did you mean moving the window around on the desktop?
