.Mac/iWeb Help!!!

HELP!!! I just got a .mac account and am using iWeb and can't publish anything. Everytime I hit the PUBLISH button I get a .mac login screen. I had already logged in first.
What am I doing wrong??? I've been to Mac support and read everything I can find on .mac and iWeb, but still NO help...

This is probably too simple, but most of us have done it — I know I have — maybe it needs cookies and yours aren't turned on.

Hi all,

I believe I have narrowed my problem to .Mac itself. I think I am logging into .Mac, but in fact I don't believe I really am. I also think it may have something to do with my member name. I used the same name or user ID that I have on my Applecare account.  

Is there a way to change the .Mac account member name myself or does Apple have to do that???

Seems ABD had a similar problem. Appreciate any and all help!

My problem was at Apples end; they said my password was screwed up there. They reset it and it's been fine since.

Symptoms were a failure to be able to sign IN at .Mac or even the Forums. I kept getting a request to try again. I never tried more than twice, assuming that there might be a 'three strikes and you're out' policy as with many sites, but the cumulative attempts may have contributed to my problem. If you are not getting a 'retry' request, I doubt that your and my problems are the same.

However, if you smptoms are the same as mine, you can send a request for help to Apple's .Mac tech support ( even without being logged IN ), listing your symptoms/problems and they should be able to fix it very quickly.

Sorry, that's about all I can provide towards 'help'. I don't use iWeb.

In System Preferences | .Mac, do you have your .Mac account information entered correctly there?

Antony and ABD,

I do believe it may have been my own fault.   I did not see an activation key when I purchased it online. I've contacted Apple .Mac support and asked for their help in getting a key.
