With the P-of-C's at work, you can right click to get a desktop from any image, even off the web. I dont see a way to do this under Tiger. With digital photography being so pain free, such a feature would come in handy.
Thanks!

That capability exists in Firefox - right click on an image and you'll get a whole long list of things you can do. smile.gif

And you can do it in Safari too. Obviously, it helps to have an image of the more or less correct proportions - clicking on the banner for instance will give one a most peculiar looking preview! wink.gif

So much for that advantage! Next?

Im at the P-of-C now (sorry). So if you had your own jpg, you would drop it on the browser icon, then right-click?

I have a popup in my contextual menu that allows me to make any pic I click on set as the desktop picture. I'll have to track down what it is.  Thinking.gif

OK, found it....it's FruitMenu

And the regular contextual menu has a quick way to get to the System Prefs.... "Change Desktop Background".

hingyfan,

If you have GraphicConverter, the picture currently being viewed can become your desktop picture. (At least in v5.9)

Simply select the Picture drop-down menu and scroll down to
"Use Picture as Desktop Picture" — Bingo!

If you don't have GC, why not? It's by far the best value in graphics software at $30.

Indispensible for photographers and people who do graphics on their Macs. Absolutely phenomenal shareware which means you can try it out before purchasing.

My 2 cents worth.
