The cheeseburger was smaller than the orb because the orb was a crystal ball that belonged to Mrs. Miller, a lady who worked in the college office, and she used to pull a little harmless fortune telling thing on gullible incoming freshmen. The cheeseburger was probably a McD's (

) due to availability.
