Sorry, but i don't like the design of the iMac as it is now anyway, and a 23" would make it look even more bad.

I'm hoping other and better things will arrive wink.gif

This one is an igloo, my new one is back in the shop again.
I think igloo is a great name, I didnt know what to call this one when I got it, so called it the soccer ball iMac.
I wonder if it would support a screen 3 inches larger, thats a good question.  Not likely that it would topple over, as the base is heavy enuf to make it pretty stable.  But I know my new one would be very tippy with 3 inches more. The new one with its little 'flipper' stand is not anywhere as stable as my soccar ball=igloo one.
Oh, gives me the woolies to think of any of these things tipping over,,,,,,,

I just put this on my wish list too!  Now I am very glad that I am waiting to see what is offered by Apple.

The great thing about the iGloo is that the screen can be turned almost 360° from side to side. Great for showing a client/friend/neighbor what's on the screen. Haven't seen any Mac that can do that before or since the iGloo. And I also like the height adjustment capability...

A larger screen could be added if the arms and springs could be adjusted. But the new iMacs are a lot heavier since they have all the hardware inside the screen enclosure. The iGloo is different in that there is nothing in the screen enclosure other than the screen hardware.

It'll be a while before I plop down $2000 for the big new model. Next purchase will probably be a laptop to replace my wife's iBook which will probably go to our church as the audio recorder/editor.

When a design is as good as the Igloo, I wondered why Apple didn't keep making them longer?  Or at least kept the design for a while.
I notice this with appliances and other things too, get something really good, then they go and mess with it.
I am keeping this Igloo-soccar ball Mac as long as it will run.
I still have a 1979 F-150 that runs pretty good, the kids use it on their little farm in Maine.  That was one good truck!

My thought also.
Plus to me it feels that they didn't even keep the igloo models that long either, not as long as the original iMacs (who changed color and theme but still were nice).
I hoped they would have abandoned the design from the present iMac when upgrading now... i guess i'll have to wait a little.
Let's just hope that the next iMac will be much nicer again smile.gif
Not that i'll buy one anyway, i want a tower again as soon as i'm able to (settled in the UK).

This is a little-known photo of the igloo prototype. Maybe it's been around far longer than anyone realizes.

haven't seen any computer that can do that

i truthfully think the 24" is too much screen for such a small computer
