Audio and my 17" iMac intel duo core ?...
« on: January 21, 2007, 10:38:28 PM »
i have my iMac 17" duo core connected to my 30" LCD TV.  I get the desktop icons, pics etc, but I used an audio cable from dearly departed Sony Vaio to connect the aduio, but i get no sound through the speakers of my 30" LCD TV.

Do I need to buy a special cable that plugs into the apple computer in order to get sound?

The cable I am trying to use plugs into the external speaker port, but does not go all the way in.  So I am guessing that I will need to get another cable in order to correct this problem?

If you know what cable I may need please let me know?

THANX! toothgrin.gif

Are these RCA cables? There are a variety of plug types. I don't have an iMac, so I don't know which type works, but I bet there's something in the manual....

Manual! We don't need no stinkin' manual!!  toothgrin.gif

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Nutterbutter,
I too own a 17" iMac Intel Core Duo.  I have external speakers connected to it.  Mine are plugged into the Optical out hole.  They will not work when plugged into the other next to it.  Also, when plugging mine in it takes a little force to go in all the way.  Don't over do it but it takes a little more then expected.

Good luck,
Ryan
