Sepialise Me, apply sepia tone to your photos
« on: March 02, 2007, 08:12:56 AM »
This is a small Automator Action written by me.

If you like the good old fashioned sepia effect in photos, you might be interested in this. (I hope.)  As the name suggested, this Automator Action will apply sepia tone (effect) to your photos, and it's very easy to use, just do it the Mac way - drag-and-drop.

To use it, simply download Sepialise Me (free).

Then drag your images or photos to the Sepialise Me icon.

You can get results like this:

For more information and to download Sepialise Me (Automator Action), please visit Sepialise Me page.

PS. That was the ugly me in the photo above.

Comments and suggestions are welcome. (And complaints as well.)

Antony,

Bravo! A very clever app (and chap) indeed. clap.gif

Do the photos that have been "Sepialised" differ from those that may created via iPhoto 6.0.5 (Effects)?

Thanks pendragon.

I believe they should be the same (which I assume iPhoto calls system's built-in ColorSync for such feature).

Antony.

Now that was cool. I've never used the Automater" to do anything.

The only thing I don't like about "Sepialise Me" is the finished pics winding up in my pictures folder. I'd prefer they wind up where my originals were. That's just a personal pref and it's easy enough to grab them from the pics folder.

Thanks again, Antony. You've solved a little task I had planned for later this year with a family photo album. smile.gif

Assuming the Automator action is still editable, you should be able to have it send the files anywhere you want, or even have it ask you where.

Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Wellllll ... I don't know how to edit Automator actions, so I don't know if it's editable or not.  dntknw.gif

This is the first time I've ever used Automator. I'm a noobie at this.  tongue.gif

I never said I used it, either. Every time I tried to create one I ended up writing it all as an AppleScript because the needed actions weren't available in Automator. doh.gif But if the actions are available, it's even easier than AppleScript because it's mainly drag-n-drop! And it's already installed with Tiger.

Here's a start for you, however. <Mac 101: Automator>

It was a decision I have to made, I have some difficulties duplicating the file in the original folder, since I don't want to destroy the original file.

Sorry, this Automation is saved as an application... to make it easier to use when applying.

Thanks guys for testing out.

Thanks,  I will have to give this a try.  I was trying something with applescript this morning, I dont know much about that either.  But its time for me to try some of these neat things.

Always work on duplicate photos, never ever mess with your originals!

I forgot to mention, I was using RapidWeaver yesterday, its pretty nice!  Got some great video tutorials that you can just follow along with. smile.gif
