To which I add, enthusiasticaly . . .
Happy Birthday, Kelly!
What Kelly does here, day-by-day, is hard to cal-cu-late,
Just post a vexing problem, you’ll not have long to wait.
He’ll come right up with URLs, in a variety unique,
Wrapped in a modest query “Could this be what you seek?”
Kelly is our Resident Seer, with knowledge broad and deep,
To which he adds a lightning speed; you’ll never see him creep
Toward issues convoluted, permutated or combined,
With the insoluble he really thrives, since, on such, he tunes his mind.
Paddy once posed upon the Board a query, Oh! so techni-cal
“How many URLs” she wondered “are stashed by our great pal?”
Just ponder, puzzle, hypothesize, then concatenate
That number there, in Hawkeye-land, 'tis just too large to contemplate.
Sixteen-thousand six-hundred plus are Kelly’s Posts to date,
But, that was yesterday, y'know, there will be more . . . just wait,
The facts are: Kelly’s Nr. 1 in contri-butions to TeeEss
Which means he’s helped us all to cope, with the cyber-wilderness.
Yet, for everyone there comes a day, each and every year,
When we look beyond just talent, as warrant for rousing cheers.
Kelly’s birthday is March 3d – right n-o-w!– so post your accolades,
His modesty deserves a break . . . . . . y'see he’s vastly underpaid.
Let’s all march off to find his roost . . . ‘twixt the hills of I-O-WAY,
To make his modest self appear, and bow, on this, His Special Day.
We’ll not disclose how old he is . . . guess, and you’re very likely wrong,
Just thank your lucky shamrocks, Kelly’s “working” here . . . for but a song.
One like this, (methinks!) . . .
Iowa Fight Song
(Meredith Wilson)
The word is “Fight! Fight! Fight! for IOWA,”
Let every loyal Iowan sing;
The word is “Fight! Fight! Fight! for IOWA,
Until the walls and rafters ring (Rah! Rah!)
Come on and cheer, cheer, cheer, for IOWA
Come on and cheer until you hear the final gun.
The word is “Fight! Fight! Fight! for IOWA,”
