Order Leopard

Leopard awaits. Perhaps announced at NAB?  dntknw.gif

Those who qualify for an academic (or Government) discount may wish to wait until these prices are known.  doh.gif

I guess they waited for me to upgrade to Tiger a few weeks ago. rolleyes.gif (My guess is that I'll wait for OS 10.5.8 or thereabouts.)

EDIT:  So, I post this and read down one post to see that 10.4.9 is out. wallbash.gif

A couple of IMacs, an iPad, a bunch of iPhones...two of which don’t live here, but I still pay for. Oh yeah, wife, daughters, and yes—a grandson!

MB,

Following are Tiger's requirements. No doubt Leopard's will be the same or even a bit more rigorous. dntknw.gif

Requirements:
• Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G3, G4 or G5 processor
• Built-in FireWire DVD drive for installation
• 256MB of RAM
• 3GB of available hard disk space (4GB if you install the developer tools)
• Processor upgrade cards are not supported. View a list of compatible hardware Here
• Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
• Video conferencing with iChat requires a compatible FireWire DV camera or web camera and broadband Internet access. One-to-one video conferencing requires a G5, G4 or 600MHz or faster G3 processor and 100-Kbps or faster broadband access. Initiating a multiway video conference requires a G5 or dual 1GHz or faster G4 processor and 384-Kbps or faster broadband access. Participating in a multiway video conference and initiating a six-person multiway audio conference both require a G5, 1GHz G4 or dual 800MHz or faster G4 processor and 100-Kbps or faster broadband access.
• .Mac sync requires a .Mac account; fees apply.

Actually, you can't order it yet - you can only select "Alert me" to have them send you an email when it is available.

Ship date is still "Spring 2007" - which could mean anything in the next three months.

You CAN order the new Harry Potter book though (delivery July 21, 2007) wink.gif

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

BTW: I guess Leopard will be really great for those of us who already own a Core (2) Duo Intel processor, utilizing the full 64-bit architecture with Leopard.
