McCally IceCam USB webcam
« on: April 09, 2007, 05:59:11 PM »
I am looking at a McCally IceCam USB webcam that claims it is compatible with iChat. Although upon further investigatin I found that I would still have to get a microphone and some third party software.
The item in question is found here:

What do you think of it?

No personal experience but found a bit of info that basically considers it an inexpensive solution with less than stellar picture quality. Kind of 'you get what you pay for'...

Perhaps a USB 2 camera would provide better results. Seems the speed makes a big difference in video. Don't remember ever hearing of a USB camera with good reviews for iChat AV. dntknw.gif
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

IAWABD, USB2... There is support for USB 2 cams in OS 10.4.9.  But, I can not find out which ones are supported.  Been scouring the internet for a week.  No list.  Seems like a hit and miss trial thing.

Anyone know which ones are supported?
