So much for making the holiday gift-giving season! (And why do I find myself thinking of it as the computer equivalent of getting a new mop...?) wink.gif

Still using Office X here. Works fine - on my Intel MacBook Pro too.

Office 2008 in the fall of 2007 didn't make sense anyway. wink.gif
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Might be the reasons why they don't name their Operating System with the extenstion from the year of release.
Windows 2005, Windows 2006... oh hell... let's just call it Vista.

Anyway, it's a good thing they are trying to get the bugs out FIRST I would say.
And like Gregg mentioned, at least it will be a real Office 2008 suit.

AFAIK, very few companies put any year in the name of a product. doh.gif Not only does it date it, it can easily cause the delays to become more obvious. Why bring out a "2007" version of anything in November?! Even the car companies start bringing out "next years" models by the end of Summer! Of course, "marketing" has never been one of Microsoft's strong suits! laugh.gif "Users will just get used to that method after a while." wallbash.gif I wonder if Mr. Gates had a lot of trouble making friends when he was very young? That's the only way I can explain his disdain for being user-friendly! laugh.gif I can imagine him wearing a sports coat ( he never wears a T-shirt, does he? ) reading, "Does not play well with others. And guard closely your intellectual property!" smile.gif
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Naturally, I had the auto industry in mind when making that post. As you say, most companies don't trumpet the model year, but most do change models annually. A tweak here, a tweak there; all in an effort to increase sales.
