Clock sound missing
« on: August 20, 2007, 10:33:22 PM »
I don't know if this happened as a result of some other minor problems I had, but my clock chime has disappeared.  I am using iClock, and it was set up to chime on the hour with a Westminster chime, as well as on the half and quarter hours.  All of a sudden I found that  the alert I was getting was my doorbell sound Thinking.gif , which I have set up for email notification.

I went into my sounds folder, and the sound is no longer there.  Checked Library on the HD, Library in Users, and the Sounds folder in System.  I changed it to cuckoo on the hour, and unchecked alerts for the half and quarters.  I am getting the cuckoo on the hour, and I am getting the doorbell sound on the quarters and half, despite the fact that nowhere is it checked to sound at those times.

I have also searched the Web and can not find that Westminster sound file.  Does anyone know how I can get rid of the alerts on everything but the hour, and whether or not that Westminsted chime sound is available anywhere?  Thanks, Leslie

Leslie, looks like it's just plain buggy from the comments here:

Of course, I see that you also posted this question over at MacFixit - did you get it working again?
