Offenses Explode in Fourth Week of Conference Play
Minnesota, Northwestern play double overtime thriller

Oct. 13, 2007

Iowa 10, Illinois 6: Jake Christensen threw for 182 yards and a touchdown and Albert Young added 99 yards rushing for Iowa (3-4, 1-3 Big Ten), who broke an eight-game losing streak in Big Ten play with its 10-6 win over Illinois.  Congrats to Kelly's HAWKEYES!!!

Michigan 48, Purdue 21: Mike Hart and Mario Manningham each scored two touchdowns in the first half to help Michigan take a big lead, and the Wolverines went on to beat Purdue 48-21 Saturday.  Congrats to Amazen Aristotle's and DaveF's WOLVERINES


Northwestern 49, Minnesota 48 (2OT): Brandon Roberson ran 6 yards for a touchdown in the second overtime and Northwestern stopped a 2-point conversion attempt by Minnesota for a 49-48 victory Saturday.


Ohio State 48, Kent State 3: Brian Hartline returned a punt a school-record 90 yards and Donald Washington brought back an interception 70 yards to lead third-ranked Ohio State past Kent State 48-3 on Saturday.   GO BUCKEYES!!! (7-0) NUMBER 1


Penn State 38, Wisconsin 7: Rodney Kinlaw ran for 115 yards and a touchdown, Anthony Morelli threw for 216 yards and another score in a 38-7 win for Penn State over Wisconsin Saturday.  Congrats to DaveF's NITTANY LIONS


Michigan State 52, Indiana 27: Javon Ringer rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries Saturday to help Michigan State end a six-game Big Ten losing streak and beat Indiana 52-27.

Iowa played an outstanding defensive game. They shut down the option, which was used to run all over Wisconsin last week. (Sorry, Mike.) I was surprised at the lack of Illinois offense. But, if not for a defensive back our quarterback didn't see, there might have been a different result. It was a hard fought, entertaining game.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Maybe so DAVE...but I'm not comfortable with the rest of the schedule. Some of the songs have changed a great deal. Starting with this Saturday's tune.

Most of the commentators I've heard say Ohio State and South Florida both have soft schedules the rest of the way. I'm sure Michigan's players and coaches disagree, and whoever is on USF's play list also....
