Office 2004 deal @ Amazon
« on: November 22, 2007, 07:32:24 PM »
Tomorrow (Friday) only, if you buy Office 2004, you will get $100 back in rebate.

Then, you qualify for a free purchase (minus the shipping) of Office 2008 special media edition. So if I got the student edition at $124, then I would only end up spending $31 for 2004 & 2008, except 2008 is not the student edition!

Pretty good deal! But I can't justify purchasing it since NeoOffice is free.

OK, I give up - where is this $100 off coupon hiding? wink.gif

The redemption form for Office 2008 lists shipping for Canada...so, now I'm considerably more interested!!! I can always arrange to have something delivered to our friends in North Andover who will be hosting my eldest for a week between Christmas and New Years!

In fact, I'm having a hard time not drooling over all the spectacular Black Friday deals...found a Seagate 500GB external drive for $79!!!! I know there are lots of nutcases driving to Buffalo as I sit here, who are perfectly willing to sit for HOURS in the customs lineups on the way home, just to score deals starting at midnight tonight (and even some today, apparently). I don't think I'm quite willing to spend that sort of time. Our prices are now starting to come down - I even found a couple of books on Amazon.ca that were cheaper than they were on Amazon.com (new, hardcover NYT bestsellers) so things are starting to sort themselves out price-wise. Toronto has a lot of good shopping, but we don't have a Kohls and there is no Target.

Circuit City.

It's USB 2.0 only, but since the bare drive itself is $149, this is an incredibly good deal!

Just got a friend in North Andover to order the Office 2004 for me - the rebate here was only for $50 and the cost was $199. With the higher CDN shipping on Office 2008 (ok, only $3, but still...) it meant that the "same" deal here in Canada totaled about $160 PLUS 14% in taxes, and in the US it was about $32 - no tax. Gee...which deal looks better? Thinking.gif Son #1 is visiting friends in NA after Christmas, so he can bring it back with him. smile.gif As a bonus - my friend has just acquired her first Mac and hadn't yet bought Office for it, so her husband will order them a copy too. Only one rebate per person.

Thank you, John!!! I've been trying NOT to torture myself with all the amazing Black Friday deals that aren't available here, so wouldn't have seen this if you hadn't pointed it out!!
