Best Way To Translate A Web Page?

The topic title says it all... I want to be able to read the Netherlands Google news page (among others...) but there is no automatic translation option on the page.

Best Way To Translate A Web Page?

So far, Google offers only translations into English from Italian, French, Spanish, German, and Portuguese directly.

The only other free way I know of doing it is at BabelFish:

http://babelfish.altavista.com/

You can enter the page URL and see how it does. It can be quite comical at times... tongue.gif

BUT WAIT...then I decided to give it a whirl, and so I did a Google search for "Google News + Netherlands" - and lo and behold, the third link on the page was to Google News for the Netherlands, with a "Translate this page" in brackets next to the link. So I did. Voila.

The link to the translated page (I managed to shorten it down considerably):

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...news.google.nl/

So exactly where did the translation link show up?  I could not find one on the Google Netherlands news page... And I cannot find a way to add the translated page to my Firefox bookmarks.

The link (which I posted above) was on the Google page of search results when I Googled "Google News  + Netherlands" - it's the third link on the page of search results.

As far as I can tell, there is no way to translate the page FROM the page itself - a serious shortcoming in my books. Perhaps you should email Google about that!

If you use the link I posted, you should be able to not only go to the page in Firefox, but bookmark it as well. I just tried it and it worked fine - and I've never gone to that page in Firefox before - just used Safari.
