Moving hard drives... problem moving disk images

Alright so i'm trying to move everything over to my new MyBook hard drive. The MyBook is formatted for FAT32... did not want to reformat it because i'll be able to view a FAT32 hard drive on my PC as well as my mac...

I seem to be having a problem moving over disk images from my old to my new hard drive tho.
An error comes up that states:

CODE

Sorry, the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occurred.
(Error code 0)

Does anybody know a possible solution to this problem?
The last thing i would want to do is reformat the hard drive... altho it seems like this may be my only option at this point, after encountering some other errors while moving files.

Parker, how big are the disk images? FAT32 won't support any files larger than 4GB.

Also, from what I've read, path names can be a problem, and there are also some characters that can't be used in file names on FAT32 formatted drives. Corruption is also a common issue.

Have you considered NTSF and using MacFuse? I don't know a lot about it, but it does allow Macs to write to NTSF partitions.

That would explain a lot!!!
And also why that some of my large files wouldn't move over
like my iMovie files and my Disk Images.
Blame it on Bill!

So... HFS looks like the way to go now... eh?
That's probably the path i will take... and i have another smaller portable hard drive that i can format FAT or NTFS and use MacFuse with...

Just went through all this mice-elf (exploring the possibilities - not really doing anything yet) - as I have two instances coming up where I'm going to need to do some serious file-sharing with PCs. Networking my MacBook Pro with a drive attached to it, and using a thumb drive in the other instance are the way I've decided to go. Reformatting drives in FAT32 ended up far from my first choice in either case.

BTW - which MyBook is this? Stay away from the 1TB one. As I posted somewhere else in this forum, a friend of mine was told by WD support that those drives have been nothing but trouble, and he advised my friend to return it and get the 500 GB version instead. (This, after 3 hours on the phone with various levels of tech support!). I've also read quite a few complaints from Mac users about them, so I hope yours works as you expect.

i was actually going to return this one and get the 1TB one
but now i'll stay with the 500gb one
it's the "Essential Edition"
cheapest one MicroCenter had
and it was on sale... so i said "heck why not!"
