Comcast watching you?

My first reaction was "this is April 1, right?" but this article was written over a week ago...and there are others. If people don't object to this sort of thing as a gross invasion of privacy, then they really are getting what they deserve! (along the lines of people elect the governments they deserve) dry.gif

I'm afraid it won't help them anyway 'round here - I almost never watch TV in real time any more and record everything on the DVR. Then I watch everything in 45 minutes instead of an hour - using the lovely extreme fast forward to zap the ads.

Why not make it "Concast"..... to catch fugitives?? wink2.gif
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

I'm always surprised at the folks who say, "No biggie." If Comcast gets away with this, they will all do it and then your expectation of privacy within your home will be gone forever.  angry.gif Glad we don't have comcast.

Hmmm ... okay ... if the technology is there to do this with their cable box, then it's there to somehow get into your DVR (or will be) ... and soon we won't be able to fast forward through commercials; or they will be commercials tailored to our needs/wants/desires. :barf:

Fortunately, our cable box is inside a cabinet and we can close the solid doors if/when we want. Such as when we sleep! The cabinet is not in the 'living room' but our 'sleeping room!' :-) If my flailing around during my sleep turns on my "favorite" channel, I'll soon learn to remember to close those doors before getting into bed! At best, they'd 'see' someone about 6 hours a week! And even then, it would mostly be blankets with a cat on top! laugh.gif

Once again, what are one's choices? For 'broadband' we have Comcast or AT&T. Which is the lesser of two evils? dntknw.gif

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
