Wow, that is amazing!
Thank you for the link, Ive a friend into old maps who will be thrilled with this.

My aunt had an antique business many many years ago, and collected old maps. They were stolen from her house, sadly.
I have some of the reprints, but not many, as she had given me some before she went into the nursing home. They are mostly of NE USA.  Some were of Europe.

I had seen this before but had trouble with the user interface; it seems slightly better but I'm still having trouble with it on my G4 (may work better with more memory).  I'm sure there must be a way to unlock a map from the satellite globe so it is no longer distorted by current "reality" because the beauty for me in these old things is in the way they present the world of that time!

There is also a nice blog which deals with old maps and if I can find it again I'll post it here!  Thanks Krissel for reminding me about this one.
