Randy Pausch passes away
« on: July 27, 2008, 10:40:51 PM »
Gunug posted about his now famous "Last Lecture" many months ago. His amazing and inspiring speech has received much of the attention that it deserved and I had hope he would be one of the few to beat his cancer.

QUOTE
"In an era of ever-increasing specialization, Randy promoted interdisciplinary teams based upon mutual respect, building bridges between fine arts and computer science," said Dan Siewiorek, head of the Human- Computer Interaction Institute. "Randy's legacy is his technology that made computer science accessible to the non-specialists."

Truly a great loss.

Yep, his talk was very inspiring and I hope that the book he wrote that expanded on it made a load of money for his family to proceed on!

A very sad, yet inspiring story. Ditto on the royalties.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.
