Seems some crafty and speedy scums took advantage of Apple's recent problems with mobileme and created a phishing scam asking for people to reenter their personal info. <The Register> I think this comment about says it all:

No OS can save you from a simple web link in an email, but really even Mac users should be aware www.Mac.com is not www.ZOMGSOMERANDOMSITE.com/lalala/mac.com/stealyourdetails.php

Don't depend on browsers or email apps to protect you from phishers/SCAMmers! Look at the links, do they make sense? If you are a registered user of some service, go to their site with your bookmark, not the stupid link in an email! rant.gif

I ran into one of those familiar looking "you've got a virus" pages yesterday. When I clicked the "X" to close the window, it downloaded an .exe file. I eventually just quit Safari, and instead of trying the page I wanted from a link, I used a bookmark. I don't know how these lowlifes hijack links on the internet, but it's happening more often, it seems.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Had one of those a few weeks ago. A persistent site for sure. It appeared whenever I hit a Google link to what looked like some ones personal page. There were multiple links displayed for the search criteria but dozens of them took you to the bogus site. After hitting the same garbage 3 times, I finally decided I had other things to do. Would be nice if Google had a Bot that checked the links they provide...wallbash.gif
