I have been using iDrive for over a month and it is as painless as it gets; I have iDrive set-up to be accessed via an icon in the Finder Menu Bar. iDrive's free 2GB account is all I currently need. Depending on the service users can elect to use the provided encryption option or data can be encrypted using other software and then uploaded to the server(s).
Uploading data can be extremely slow since most ISPs severely limit the upload speed. But downloading can be very quick indeed, limited only by your maximum bandwidth and the usual network issues...
