Why there's a bite in Apple's apple
« on: February 06, 2009, 08:54:11 AM »
Hi everyone,

It's been agesssss since I posted a topic but I did found something interesting while reading the link on Mayo's post on the "new" 240Gb drive for the iPod.

I found a timeline about Apple years with and without Steve Jobs.
The timeline itself did not really gave lots of details I expected from it (judging from the title) but I did found an interesting picture showing why exactly there's a "bite" in Apple's apple.
The picture is on the third slide on that timeline.
I am not in the ability to put the picture here since it's in flash, and I'm on a Windows box at work so I can't crop/copy a screendump wink.gif

So I guess initially the word "apple" was set in this "bite" smile.gif

I thought it was interesting to see though since I always wondered where the logo came from.

More info on the logo:

Not surprised that the first logo didn't last long - it looks more like a book plate than the logo for a computer company! wink.gif

Interesting, thanks clap.gif
So it seems the bite wasn't for the letter "a" after all.
First logo was more suitable for a family company producing cookies or so (with apple).

I also was under the impression that this latest lawsuit with Apple Records was settled and because of that, we should be seeing Beatle songs on iTunes?

Might be wrong on that :/

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

As to the notation that the Apple colors were in the "wrong order"...

Not exactly.  They are placed in the correct order, it's just that we are used to seeing them with red on the top in a rainbow from the ground. They are placed correctly next to each other as to primary and secondary colors but the green is on the top where the leaf would ordinarily be.
So in a way this order makes more sense.
