Forum Software Recommendations?
« on: May 18, 2009, 05:00:56 PM »
I'm looking for forum software that I can use on a Web site created using RapidWeaver. Said Web site will likely be hosted by A Small Orange...

I would like to be able to arrange things something like this so that folks can post health care pro recommendations by state and/or city. There would be other discussions too...

So far I have found RapidForum, the only RapidWeaver forum plugin that I know of and phpBB. That's It... I figure that there may be one or two forum "experts" here that can save me some time. (If you can point me somewhere I can educate myself more that would be fine too...)

The software need not be free, but reasonably priced would be nice... Hosting requirements I should know about would be helpful too.

I have probably left something out but being a Newbie in this area What Else Is New?

Here is a review site for some of the more popular forums.

http://www.forum-software.org/

But this place has a wizard that asks you what you want then shows which fit the description.

http://www.forummatrix.org/

You can then compare/contrast the results. Here is our software (not free) compared with a couple other popular ones.
