any known Citrix issues with MAC
« on: July 18, 2009, 03:44:10 PM »
I have a MacBook v10.5.6 (Intel) and every time I try to log onto my work's Citrix Remote access account I receive the Firefox message stating "Firefox prevented this page from redirecting to another page."  asking if I wish to allow.  This happens three times in quick succession and then performs the log-on.  Is this a known issue with a fix?

Thanks very much for any assistance.

Jim

Jim, I haven't used Citrix in quite some time. The last time I did, I had NO such problem. In fact I had NO problems at all.

Thanks for sharing your experience.  I should mention that my employer is MAC-phobic and officially doesn't support Macs.  When I spoke with them this morning they tested my logon on their system and didn't have any problems logging in via a PC.  I attempted logging in again a few minutes ago and received the same message.

JL,

I suggest trying Safari instead of Firefox as a test.  [you might need to designate Safari as your default browser, IDK how Citrix interacts w/ the OS, haven't used it at all for many years, or maybe you'll need to setup Citrix to use Firefox instead of Safari]

In the last few years, the rare times something on the web has not worked properly w/ Firefox, it has always worked w/ Safari. FWIW, I've been using FF as my main browser for quite a few years now, w/ Safari as my backup browser more recently, although I used to use Camino 'off the bench' as needed.

If it works OK w/ Safari, then you have at least found a work-around to your problem; if it still fails w/ Safari, perhaps you will learn something that will point you to a solution.
