I don't know if there are any iPod Touch users at TS... maybe one or two, but they certainly don't seem to post much, if anything about them.

I suggest checking out Apple's forums; you'll find out right away what issues are affecting iPod Touch owners...

Wont be any help, but we (read "she") have had a 1st gen Itouch for quite a while. She loves it. Travels the U.S. extensively, loaded with books, music and the availability of the wifi world and no need to unlimber the laptop. Elected not to jump into 3.0 as it was a cost and could not see where it brought much to the 1st gen unit.

I love my Touch, second generation, my wife fell in love with mine so I picked one up for her as well, I use it mostly for a PDA and music, the new OS so far is GREAT, my only complaint is if shaken to hard it advances or takes you back to the previous song, the new recording capability is working perfect so far, I love sending my wife voice messages, and with notes now being able to type in the wide view, it is now easy to type, the calculator now has more functions as well, it was in my opinion worth the ten bucks!

Sunset, I don't see an iPod Touch listed in your gear profile... If you don't already own one, I read today that rumor has it that production has already begun on the next generation iPod Touch and it will include a camera and video recording, among other things. I wouldn't be surprised if it has more memory too...

So anyone in the market may want to wait a little longer because the iPod Touch is definitely due for an upgrade sooner than later.

I have an iToiuch and an iPhone 3GS with 3.0 software. My iTouch is going to my stepdaughter so I no longer use it. The 3.0 software for the iPhone is great. Absolutely no glitched. Coupled with iTunes, the 3.0 software works flawlessly as well as by itself on the iPhone.

Got my 16G iTouch recently for only $70 with purchase of MBP.  Updated to 3.0 software but since I really didn't use the previous software I can't comment on differences.

But if you are thinking of purchasing one, do wait til the next model is released in a couple months.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond--we're on vacation and internet service isn't always available.  Anyway, I appreciate everyones' response.  It sounds like there aren't any major problems with v.3.0 which is good news.  Am anxious for the wide keyboard orientation-am not into 'texting' so it'll be nice having the larger keyboard.  Will check out the Apple discussions regarding this when 'service' is more available.

For those of you who suggested I wait for the next iteration of that device, [should have added it to my profile], I've had a 2nd G since Jan/Feb; hopefully will be happy with it for a long time.  It'd be fun to have the new add-ons but not necessary...  unsure.gif

Fantastic price, Kris--what a deal!!  Imagine how many they'd sell if that were the going rate?!  Thinking.gif

Thanks for all the convincing comments--I'll do the upgrade when we get back home.
