Hi Dreambird,

Worked for me with Netscape 7.0.2 for OS X (Jaguar).  All drop downs navigated fine.

Site loaded okay in Netscape 7.0 and 7.0.2.

Random navigation was okay (occasionally a bit slow even on cable) until Spotting guide>North America. An error message appeared when clicking on "here" link in "Airport maps of a lot of airports in North America can be downloaded from here You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the files"

http://www.pbase.com/image/17271076.jpg

Dave

Edited to add that error appeared using both versions.

Sorry, but NS 7.01 in OS 9.1 doesn't seem to want to show the upper 'nav' frame. Memory doesn't seem to be the problem, may try again later with fewer programs running. (was just told there is now a newer version out - just hardly ever run NS...not worth the d/l...)

Still wondering where all those people must be going! Are there really that many people who need to get between these two cities quicker than by the super fast trains in France?! wacko.gif Wondering, also, if there is some 'backroom' support from Airbus? I think Lyon is where the main assembly of this (and other widebodies) takes place.

Jim C.

Just after adding the reply, I see that the 'nav' frame did load! Drop down menues and all! It is not quite as wide as in IE (doesn't go all the way accross the page). But it works! May have been 'diverted' before by NS's 'friendly' announcement about its upgrade! nono.gif  wallbash.gif

Thanks much guys... for the help!

Dave... I get a similar "404" type error on some of those links too... but the ones I tried didn't ask for Acrobat Reader... unsure.gif

Jim... Thanks, what I notice is that the site now works in NS4.76 too, where it didn't before if one goes to edit>preferences>advanced and unchecks the "enable style sheets"... and in that case the nav. bar goes all the way across the page.

Anyway the main thing is that it's "working"... smile.gif

We have daily flights between Calgary and Edmonton which is only 180 miles... but there's no passenger trains at all and the bus (Greyhound) is not too great in the service department. Business people mainly use the flights here... otherwise, better to drive yourself!  Groaner.gif

Didn't check the linking problems mentioned, so I went back to do that. The upper frame worked this time, after about a minute! And that is on a cable connection! (IE loads everything much quicker, no noticable delay).

And the links I checked worked fine. Again, this is NS 9.01/OS 9.1. Nice looking site, have bookmarked it (in URLM Pro, of course! thumbup.gif ).

Travel:
I'm not sure I would compare the market, much less the terrain between Paris/Lyon and Calgary/Edmunton (I'd much rather drive in your area! But I love mountains! thumbup.gif ). And if the Canadian government subsidized a high-speed train such as the TGV you might have fewer drivers. And there is no comparison between a TGV and VIA. Especially since there doesn't seem to be any service into Calgary! doh.gif

Too bad, we're thinking about travelling the Toronto/Vancouver route someday!

Well Jim... Calgary to Edmonton is awful boring... it's all just flat farmland... wink.gif

But from Calgary to Vancouver yes, right through the Rockies! I'm not sure on how many people use that VIA service for routine travel, I think it's aimed at being a leisurely vacation thing. I think you'd really enjoy it! smile.gif

It looks to me that they veer up through Edmonton rather than Calgary because they've chosen Jasper rather than Banff. Personally I think for tourists the route they've chosen is the better one because Banff has become so... "commercialized"... the Jasper area is IMHO more pristine and mountains galore...
