Can't send OE email!
« on: May 30, 2003, 05:19:52 PM »
It's been a bad few days for my Mac. Lot of glitches that has been slooowiing me down! Don't you hate that?
And after I did the whole maintenance thing - Disk First Aid, Norton Utilities, TechTool Lite, Diskwarrior. Everything told me my system was fine!

Sorry to vent, but out of the blue I can't sent email. I can receive it, but my outgoing mail gives me this message:
"Error- mail could not be sent to A/C Raven
Explanation . Mail error. The server did not understand the request.
Error 5521"

So what does all that mean, and how can I fix it quick?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Could be your ISP -  - - did you query them??
If all was fine - I doubt if it is anything from the wall -connect and computer.

Can't send OE email!

I had 5 emails stacked up in my Outbox that wouldn't go anywhere.
So I shut it down, went for supper, tried again in a few hours.
I did an email to myself which went through! Then the 5 emails that were stacked, were sent automatically.
Great! I tried sending two more emails, and guess what...? Same message as before...
"Mail error. could not understand the request"

I had checked with my ISP earlier today. He answered:
"I started looking into the mail server.  I didn't change anything except to shut it down from about 5:30 to 7:30 to do a complete servicing (virus scan, defragmentation, remove unneeded files, check configuration, etc.).  As for web pages there is absolutely no connection between access web pages and email EXCEPT for DNS settings.  The originate from different servers and have different IP addresses."

So now I can't email out again. What gives?

Raven. I fixed something similar once by trashing an OE Cache File. smile.gif

It was in one of the Main Users Folder.

Worth a shot.

Maybe just move it to the Desktop. smile.gif
