Must be at least 2 months ago when I posted the iMac question and received (as usual) helpful advice.

Both Sandbox and GUNUG recommended a Mini. Bought one for my wife, found adequate cheap monitor and yesterday - having returned from long relax at our apartment in Argos, Greece - installed it.

It's running well and my wife is delighted. Now she has a more modern system than me - but that's OK though I am now considering Leopard for my G5 Quad which still can do much more than I demand from it.

We passed the eMac to one of her girlfriends who needs it only for email etc. She has another friend using a Mac for web design who will set it up for her,

One more Mac user!

Must revise the equipment list that appears below my name though I'm not renowned for prompt action.

Your welcome eric! I have a new one as well, connected to a 24 inch samsung t240 monitor/TV. I added a little more memory and Temperature Monitor because of rumors of over heating but i haven't seen any evidence of a problem yet. I'm in search of a good firewire hub or USB combo because one port is not enough. It's quiet, compact, efficient and makes a nice addition. There are some new technology on the horizon that will double or triple speed and efficiency so I'm kinda holding off on additional hardware replacements until years end.

Right back at you; I'm working as hard as I can to follow my own advice. . .my wife wants quite a few other computers out of the house before she'll let me buy one (even a small one)!

I can't find an official temperature range but the chip supposedly has a thermal maximum of 100°C/212°F.
There are a lot of areas to consider so you could use Apples own Hardware Monitor$7.00 if your concerned. I've used a number of utilities but left the Temperature Monitor in the menu for my better half to keep an eye on, and if she notices a high temp I use other programs to examine the issue. I have iSlayer as well....it has a nice tool set. I did question some of its readings but I'm new to these Mini's so what do I know?
