Safari 4.0.4 welcomes back an old feature

Finally, in Safari 4.0.4, Apple has seen fit to restore the ability to clear recent searches in the Google search box. This was missing in all earlier versions of Safari 4 and the only way that I could do it was via OnyX, which involved having to quit all open applications before it took effect.

I wish that Apple had returned Snapback to the Address Bar as well as well as the Google search bar (it was found there in earlier versions of Safari and was the main reason why I used Safari). I have written to Apple to express this opinion and if anyone else wants to do so, they can access Mac OS X Feedback.

I tried to lod the Tiger/PPC version on my 10.4.11 running on a Quicksilver 2002 933MHz.

Wouldn't update for me, even tho I had installed Security Update 002PPC.

If you tried it via Software Update and that failed, try downloading it directly from this Apple page and then install it. When the update failed, did you get any error messages?

Dl'd Tiger version per your suggestion. go thru install. Until 'Select Destination'.

My boot disk is not selectable:

Plenty of disk space, should be enough memory. My QS is the same as yours.

Never had an install problem before, unless prior sw was required.

How much free disk space do you actually have? Maybe it's less than you think. You can find out by selecting your boot volume in the Finder and pressing Command-I.

Another thought is that you might have some directory damage. Have you run Disk Utility's Repair Disk function or, better yet, Disk Warrior or similar? How about repairing permissions? If you don't know how to do these things, read Mac OS X - Using Disk Utility to Repair a Disk. I apologize if this is too simple but it's difficult to tell the level of a poster's expertise in this medium of exchange.
