« on: March 09, 2010, 02:28:42 AM »
I wanted to print a page from my MAC PRO laptop and press print option

so slow

so slow

Ten minutes later the page prints from my HP Laserjet 2600n

Questions why can't it print instantly? wallbash.gif

I've got a similar model in one of our computer labs and I was going to look for more memory for it (it seemed to have an empty SODIMM slot inside).  I would also wonder whether it was trying to print Postscript instead of PCL or whether it was a generic driver.  If you have a generic driver you could try seeing whether a newer CUPS had a non-generic driver included:

Didn't see one on the list!

Apple also has HP driver updates: <for Snow Leopard>
<Supported printer/scanner list>

Might be a good idea to dump printer caches, might as well get a good utility and dump most caches regularly. Our garbage collector comes every Monday...

Check the menus of your apps, many contain 'maintenance' functions. Especially Mail, Safari, Print & FAX Pref Panel even the Help menu. wink.gif
