Error window upon startup
« on: March 28, 2010, 05:23:19 PM »
My computer is an iMac G5 17” PPC 1.8 GHz OS 10.4.11, iTunes 6.0.4.

Why am I getting this error window upon startup?

[attachment=1826:Picture_1.jpg]

This started a month or so ago. By the looks of it, it seems to concern iMovie.

- I have repaired permissions
- I have trashed com.apple.iMovie.plist and restarted.

Indeed about a month ago I sort of “played” with iMovie. I did not try to save anything.
But if i inadvertently did “malsaved” something, where would I find such a malsaved
iMovie document so i could trash it "properly" and permanently.?

JB, things to try:

1. Check the Console log to find this error and copy and paste it here so we can see if it is actually related to iMovie - could be something else.

2. Check your login items. System preferences->Accounts->Login Items tab. Just check to see if there is anything in there that would trigger this.

3. One other iMovie .plist file to delete: com.apple.iMovie.LSSharedFileList.plist

4. Boot from your install disk and repair the drive (or use Disk Warrior if you have it) - you may have a directory error or two.

Look in your user folder library for Caches.  See if there is an iMovie one and dump whatever is in there.

Also see if there are similar caches in the main Library (not System).
