My recently deceased aunt wrote a poem and had a friend print up a bunch of them on postcard sized card stock. She planned to send them out last Christmas but waited too long (her most common 'action'). Now, with a memorial coming up, Judy asked me to read one of the cards and give her my opinions (no, she doesn't seem to learn very fast!
).
My first response was that it should be reprinted in a readable font! It's a nice, ornate, Gothic, very elaborate font. But it is not designed for casual reading, especially for more than a very few words! And the "G" was especially difficult to decipher! First I thought it was a "B" and then something else...I finally had to ask Judy what the word was supposed to be.
Of course, it didn't help that it was only a 12point size! That font would look great on an entrance to a castle, engraved in stone with letters at least 12" high... oh well, my aunt apparently was given a choice of several dozen fonts and picked this one. That's one problem with looking at font samples that don't show exactly what is going to be printed with them.
Anybody use about a hundred post cards with only one side blank?
