Open source - works with Chrome extensions. Don't know why I've not come across this before, as it's been out since January for OS X. "Iron" - I'm posting from it now. Seems zippy. Based on the Chromium source code.

What's the difference between Chrome and Iron?

http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_i...ome_vs_iron.php

Seems to have been developed by a German bunch (English is definitely not their first language!)

More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRWare_Iron

I've also come across a number of reports that Iron is faster than Chrome - on a couple of pages I've tested with both Safari 5 and Iron, Iron definitely seemed faster. smile.gif

Was this the same as Mercury; which I think was also an offshoot of Chrome?

Mercury is for the iPhone, John.

http://www.ilegendsoft.com/software/mercurybrowser/ I cannot find any direct connection to Chrome, though it's probably another Webkit-based browser.
