iChat wizardry

Background....  My sister-in-law just got a new Macbook, her first 'new' computer in about 10 -12 years.  We got her all set up and running with an Airport Express in her home for her wireless network.

I have a 20" Intel iMac and my wife has a G4 Macbook, with no camera, built in or otherwise.

My wife and her sister have 'chatted' a number of time just using the audio chat capability.

The other night my s-i-l called me 1st and we video iChatted, she then placed a 'conference' call to my wife. The screen(s) unfolded and my s-i-l and I could see each other and the 3rd 'slot/window' contained my wife's name... and we could all chat together...

BUT... what was 'new' to all of us, was that my wife could now see myself and her sister on her screen in the appropriate window portions.
We were amazed / amused at this occurrence...!!!

Later my s-i-l called my wife 1st, and then attempted to call me to replicate the chat, but was shown an error message that she 'could not conference in a video conferee when doing an audio conference'.  So there must be a restriction on the way you can connect conference calls.

Well that's a lot of words to get across what happened, but I have not encountered this same situation in all the time I've been 'chatting'...
