WOW.gif    it is wonderful watching these guys being rescued - I read somewhere that the ones interviewed so far have said their lives have changed drastically - they all have different priorities now.

Hopefuly the entire group will get up safely.

Watched a few rescues last night and they were so touching. Hope all the miners recover and move forward with happy lives.

I cried last night watching the first miner come up, and then I cried all over again just a bit ago watching many of the miners' ascent on an extended report on PBS Newshour. So, so lucky to have avoided a horrible disaster.

What would you want for comfort, food, or whatever if you were in their place.  Thinking.gif   I'm thinking a nice bathroom and a long shower and "then" a long soak in a comfortable bathtub for me! coolio.gif I'd wear the shades for the rest of my life!

Now (9:52pm DST), they're bringing up the "down in the hole" rescue crew. I think they still have two to go.

God bless them all !!!!!

It's going to be interesting to see the last one come out, and how he does it.

If one ever had any question about whether management/supervision is "real" work, just listen to the accounts of how Nr.33, the Shift Supervisor, got them so tightly organized during the first 17 days before they were even discovered by the "surface dwellers", that those routines served to keep everyone on-track for the next two months.

Inspiring leadership.

Pretty inspired "followership" too, especially by Nr, 2 who brought up the rocks for El Presidente and the drilling crew.

The story of the small Pennsylvania company who fabricated the special drill in record time was a fascinating sidebar. As well as the President who wasn't afraid to ask for worldwide advice and assistance. And got it.

Lots of books and dissertations and screenplays will be written about this astounding exercise, a few by people who actually stick to the "facts" and know what they're writing about.

NPR ran a story on that PA factory this morning. Great that he took the initiative and that the U.S. government responded right away and got him connected.

This is the first all-good-news story since Sully and that Hudson River crash. But even better than that, I think, is to realize just how far Chile's come from the Pinochet days!

Political aspects aside (Dboh) I was going to suggest that maybe we should give these guys a little rest, like they asked for at a recent press conference, and barring that maybe feed them some "chili" to warm them up a little!  rolleyes.gif
