Onyx(Titanium)
« on: January 18, 2011, 12:03:25 PM »
Just reading the new Mac|Life and on page 16, they recommend (MenuMeter and) Onyx.
I have Onyx, but dont bother to do the maintenance any more.
From what the article said, it would be a good idea to do it.

So do you use it, what for, and any suggestions?
Its pouring out, so there is time to do some 'extras'.
Thanks,
Jane

I usually use to clean all the caches. Saves me looking in all the nooks and crannies of the system for them all! I don't tend to run it routinely - more when something is not behaving as it should and might be cache related. Do make sure you have the most recent version of Onyx though. smile.gif

Sure, why not? It's updated very often. Heard about some problem it causes? dntknw.gif

I don't use it for maintenance but I recently found it very handy to force-empty the trash.

I use OnyX 2.2.2 1-2/week to run Daily/Weekly/Monthly Scripts etc.

Appears to speed up the system when it gets sluggish.

I also use Applejack around 1/month for genaral housekeeping and tune-up.
