Ram Question
« on: June 22, 2003, 10:45:32 PM »
I have a G3 DT 266 and would like to add more ram, I have added a 256MB to the factory 64MB. As I was shopping for a good price I noticed either the PC100 or PC133 ram will work.
What is the difference ? Advantages ?
just wondering.....
TIA

In a beige G3, there will be no difference whatsoever. The system bus on a beige G3 is only 66MHz - no matter what the speed of the RAM. Faster RAM won't make a speck of difference. So, go with whichever seems the best deal.

If you had a newer G4 with a 133MHz system bus, you would have to use the faster RAM.

Thanks Paddy,
I understand now. For future possible use I will get the PC 133 so I can add it to my new/used G4 that will get cheaper after the G5 announcement.....lol....I wish !
The price is about the same as the PC 100 ram.

p.s. I did see alot of G4's for sale on Epay.
