Hi People,

The more i use Safari, the more i start to like it but there was just one thing that irritated me.
That brushed look from Safari, at certain point, it looked to me that i was looking at a metal monitor, having iTunes, iChat and Safari open.
Than i found this SafariNoBrush freeware at Versiontracker and downloaded it straight on.
I applied it and... i love it now, it just looks like any other OsX software  
I'm using Safari most of the times now, also cause Techsurvivors loads much faster on this.
Also, had to download something yesterday and today, and both times Explorer didn't recognised the download where Safari did.

So, here i am on Safari now, hehehe.

Safari Enhancer 1.4.4 also lets you choose between the Metal or OSX stripes.

Yup, but it asked me to install some BSD software which i didn't wanted, not even sure what it is

I have been using  SafarIcon to change the brush metal appearance to aqua sripes and also apply themes to Safari.

This sounds like such a      browser... I sure do wish there were a version for OS9.x...

Ooow, SafariIcon even gets a little higher rating at Versiontracker, hmmm  
I'm glad i have it with Aqua look now, i don't think i need some extra looks (i like my monitor to be as "neutral" as possible, makes it easier on the eyes

I guess (and hope) that Safari isn't yet a fully grown browser and will remain a beta for a while, but Apple already did a good job on it.

And yup, it's sad that Apple won't make Os9 Safari... i guess they really are pushing people up to OsX.
Don't really know if that's a good thing or not.... at some points it is, at others it isn't.... (((sigh))) isn't it always like that  
But i do hope you are able to make that switch sooner or later... and hope more it will be sooner

Kinda curious. An OS X window can only be dragged by its title bar, e.g., it does not have an edge for dragging as Classic windows did. Exceptions to this rule are the brushed aluminum windows. These can be dragged by clicking on any part of the aluminum.

And so to the question, when installing SafariNoBrush or some such, does one lose the dragging capability?

  I just tried changing Safari from "brushed metal" to aqua stripes" and yes, you  do lose the dragging ability.

On SafariNoBrush i still  have dragging abilities.
There's this little square on the bottom right side, having 3 lines going diagonal up from one corner to other one.
That's how it works here.

Harv is talking about dragging/moving the window around on the screen.

He he... I'm sure I'll make the jump as you say "sooner or later"... I've always been this way... one day the "urge" hits and then I do it.

Funny I still consider myself new to Mac, eventhough I've had one since Jan. 2000 now... I'm still quite amazed and overjoyed at the simplicity of the Class OS... I can't believe I've been a "convert" for 3 years already...  

It would be nice if Apple hadn't just stopped programming for OS9.x so suddenly, but I guess that's business...  

I only just stopped using Windows 95 since this summer when one of my HD's stopped dead in it's tracks... I decided to only restore Windows 98se since I only have half the space now... not sure about upgrading to XP at all... the PC is a little on the underpowered side for it... not to mention how M$ loves to waste space by adding drivers and "stuff" for devices etc. I'll never have.

BTW... I like your avatar! Too cute!

Hmm, i don't know much about Windows, but my advice is... do NOT go to XP lol  
Actually, i think you have the best windows system at the moment, or at least one of the best (Windows 98se).

Piggy (on my avatar) is the cutest stuffie i ever had, and i had her from Boston girl, she's just so sweet (piggy) and reminds me constantly at Boston Girl
