I can't get audio working. Its really frustrating - I've tried disabling the firewalls to no avail. Do I have to programme Alcatel Speedtouch 510 again?

Many thanks the link is very interesting.

I am really a novice to the Speedtouch 510 and I don't know how to open the ports 5060, 16384-16403.

Hi Clp,

The ports are to be opened on your firewall, your SpeedTouch is just the modem (or does it include a firewall? hmmm).
Anyway, you are not the only one having problems with iChat AV.
Most people can't get video working, and some can't get audio.... some even can't use their webcam in general sad.gif
Been reading about it on a dutch website.
It seems the Beta version from iChat really sucks on USB communication and/or specific drivers for webcams.
Apple posted a "bug report" link on their pages.
You can use this, or... it seems that iChat AV Beta has a similar "bug report" function somewhere like Safari had? (maybe in menu though).
I don't have iChat AV here, so i can't give you specific details.

Hope it's enough smile.gif

Well thanks for your comments - I posted the bug report. I'm really fed up - I've wasted hours trying to figure this out while I should be studying.

I became quite crumpy  sad.gif and honestly I should be studying. Its just typical of Apple.

I cannot get the Audio working - ichat collapses everytime.

I cannot get the camera working either.

I know this must be really irritating for you sad.gif
But remember that it still is Beta (although it seems Apple  released this Beta in a hurry).
I did once fought and tried everything to get my external usb burner working with the Apple system itself, nothing worked though.
I notice that the burner now is compatible on USB, i don't even know when that happened, cause at the end i odered myself a firewire cable to connect it to the system.
That one worked from OsX.1.3.
I know things like this are just annoying but euhm... do NOT forget to study thereeeeee wink.gif

Maybe this independant software is something for you.
Seems to handle much camera's.
I would say (and you are probably doing so) but maybe you can try Yahoo messenger?
Not sure if the latest AIM for Mac OsX has webcam support (they do on pc) but maybe it's worth checking that out as well.
