Netscape 4.76 Problem
« on: July 02, 2003, 08:56:40 AM »
My Lombard is heading off to a new home... the person preferred OS9.1 so I installed that and got this error on trying to start NS4.76... OK, so they said OS8.6 would be fine for now... so I restored from a backup and I still get this error:

"Unable to start a java applet: Can't find 'java40.jar' in your CLASSPATH. Read the release notes and install 'java40.jar' properly before restarting.
Current value of CLASSPATH: Macintosh HD:Internet:Netscape Communicater Folder:Essential Files:Java:Lib

That's where it's always been... still in the same place on my Pismo and I don't get that error!

Release notes don't say anything that I can see...

Anyone have an idea what that's all about?

Thnx...

OK... I got the Netscape error to "go away"... biggrin.gif
Dunno how, I ran TTP 2, Disk Warrior and re-blessed the system folder and it was history!

Now for niggly problem number deux... when the machine is started it flashes back and forth a few times with the system folder and ? icon... then finds the system folder and starts...

How I get that to stop?

Only one  wallbash.gif now... wink.gif

I'll be back later... going to do what the sig. says... "soak up the sun"...  tongue.gif

Hey doc, it hurts when I do this.  wallbash.gif

Draw your own conclusion...  Devilish2.gif

When all else fails, zap the PRAM -even if that probably won't solve anything.  taped.gif

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Open your Startup Disk control panel and click on your hard drive in the Startup Disk control panel.
