Anyway, I sent it to a lot of friends and pilots (some of whom are also friends!). It's one of the best vids I've seen of the Shuttle launches. Part of the trip that never got much attention...except once.
I think it is interesting to see that those solid rockets never really quit burning, at least until they hit the water, and I'm not positive
that even stops them! After all they carry their own oxygen and they don't have a throttle or even an ON/OFF switch! It vividly demonstrates why the Shuttle launch was so dangerous!
I also thought it ironic that this space engine looked so much like an old puffing, coal burning steam engine at certain times of the descent!
