Apple Remote Control
« on: April 17, 2012, 08:36:57 AM »
It looks as if the Apple Remote controller(s) is limited in what it can do.

Is there any way to get it to emulate the arrow cluster in non-Apple apps?
So I can forward/reverse slides?

I would like to use it to control slide shows I do in GraphicConverter.

I just can't see a way to do it after much finagling and playing around.

Played with both, got nowhere.  NADA, Zilch, Zero, Nothing . . . . . . . . . .

I like to use the MBP for showing slides through an Epson EX7210 slide projector attached via MBP monitor port with HDMI adapter and cable.
I also like to keep the lid closed (or close thereto) during the presentations.

The remote is much more compact than toting around a wireless keyboard.

Maybe some third-party apps that connect to it, an interweb search may provide a solution. I don't see any reference to controlling GC (or any other non-Apple app)  in this <Apple Support article>. sad.gif It seems to confirm my thoughts that it was mainly for use with Apple apps. dntknw.gif On the other hand, depending on the graphics, I guess, you should be able to pout the 'slides' in Keynote. And KN can also display animations, AFAIK. (Keynote, $20 at the Mac Store)
