there's still quite a bit to get acclimated to.
By default, Lion is set not show file extensions as well.
But, after a bit of sleuthing, I found this at MacRumors Forum:

When hovering over the file in Lion's Spotlight, hold down Command to see the filename and Command-Option for the file path.
And by hover, the poster means highlighting the file with a mouse-over as you peruse the files that come up on Spotlight.
Much quicker than having to click and hold the mouse and then hold the Command key.
