Not sure what the video format is on that link. I see a reference to "og:type" and other "og" meta data. But I thought that might be the tag for the OGG format, better known as Theora, which is supposed to be natively supported in Chrome. flail.gif I gotta go, I'll see if I can get it to play later... dntknw.gif

Shows on my Mac as being a Flash video; however, you can pick up a zipped (about 10MB) mp4 here, courtesy of Video Downloader (Firefox) and Dropbox smile.gif

Thanks for the vid! clap.gif

So, when are you leaving? I assume you will be renting an armored personnel carrier when you get there? And you'll have your life insurance all paid up, of course... BTW, I'll be glad to be one of your beneficiaries, if you need more! eek2.gif

But I hear the prices there are great for travelers! They need the foreign currency, unless it's Greek or Spanish or... Well, I'm sure they'd like your Pounds!!! laugh.gif Just be sure to do a thorough walk-around of the rental vehicle before leaving the agency. And I would highly recommend the additional 'insurance rider.' In this case, that's probably an actual person who rides with the vehicle and can testify as to who/what caused the (inevitable?) accident!

This kind of problem is even worse in China where there are so many new drivers, none of which have any concept of the 'rules of the road!' Same behaviors as when they all 'drove' bicycles. But the results are slightly more devastating when the vehicles now are 10 times as fast and twenty times as heavy!! rolleyes.gif

Of course, I'm still amazed that there aren't more problems in the 'isles' where you still insist on driving on the wrong side of the road... wallbash.gif scram.gif

Ice is never "black" unless it's made of black (or very dark) water. Most water ice is translucent, if not clear. It simply allows the lack of light and night to reflect off its surface. And, as long as it's smooth and unbroken, it will be practically invisible and only the surface on which it sits will be seen, usually a very dark or even black pavement. inspect.gif

Same phenomena causes snow to appear to be 'white.' It's not, of course. It's just as clear as any other ice. But its myriad angles and reflective surfaces and crystalline shape reflect so much light that it appears to be white... unless some animal has left a 'signal' in it... scram.gif

Yes, black ice is not a good name, it should say transparent on the road' ice.

I almost made a Dont Eat Yellow Snow tshirt for us, but not because Lilly has a way to turn snow yellow, but the transformer on our downed elec pole during the storm was leaking its yellow insulation goo, and it made the snow turn yellow.
I did put up a quick page to show the entire ordeal for fun, and emailed it to the elec guys.
But the elec company guy(the boss) asked me to take 'yellow goo' off my page and put in 'non-toxic mineral oil' instead. Which I did.
It was not PCB, they tested it right away when I called them, as we have well water here, and the 'plume' was headed for the catch basin which brings some water near our well point. As when they salt our dirt road to the side of our property, we taste salt very soon, and it takes about a month to dilute and go away. The "Clean Harbors" company came in a HUGE truck with a vaccum sort of thing and sucked all the yellow snow up, and along with that, the dirt below it too.
So we dont have to drink Yellow Snow.
