I'm not sure about the time interval; but it would make a great iPhone commercial!  Devilish2.gif

That was wonderful. I love the way the gentleman wiped it down and offered it to the two almost-hysterical girls who were totally stuck between their materialism plus the yuck factor!  Brilliant.

Many years ago, long-distance calls in the UK were referred to as "trunk calls" wink.gif

I am probably too cynical and believe way too little on the intermess. But this 'story' is just too strange and contrived. First, I think the 'juices' in the stomach of almost any animal big enough to swallow an iPhone would be more than enough to ruin the 'liquid sensors' inside the phone. Additionally, I suspect the battery would be completely discharged through that 'liquid.' Secondly, I have no idea of the time it might take for 'food' to travel from one 'end' of the elephants digestive tract to the other. Even if the handlers know that time frame, it is just a little beyond coincidental that the girls would just happen to arrive at the correct 'pile' before it had been collected for 'other uses...'

From the end of the article:
QUOTE
Bruce Schulte, a biologist at Western Kentucky University who serves as an adviser to the International Elephant Foundation, weighed in on the matter in an email:

"[snippage]......It is unlikely that a mobile phone would be ingested, and if so, that it would handle the environment of a digestive tract and remain functional."
