There were a couple of problems, Jim, and when I googled the problems, I found a ton of threads, all over the place, about them, and, of
course I tried them, to no avail, before finding the simplest, which was to uninstall the program and then reinstall, and run the updater before doing anything. Man, I tried it with the program running and downloaded the updater, which, as you mentioned, told me to quit the program, but 2 problems, one of which led me to the discovery that part of the program installs part of itself in your startup programs, and if you delete it, it reinstalls itself. . .
Never had a problem with LightRoom, which is the same company, and this thing just had me gritting my teeth, hence the warning to the rest of you.
