That delete/add back has worked many times for a printer my wife and I share. It's USB connected to her MBP (the Ethernet board in the printer broke). If we have a power outage, things don't always come back on in a certain order. Usually, it means I can't access the shared printer. Sometimes I have to delete it on my machine, but sometimes it has to be done on hers.
Fortunately, it's a black & white, laser printer, so we don't have a bunch of different graphics related settings saved on it.
Wouldn't it be great to have a procedure like that for
non-computer problems... just delete it and add it back... or maybe not!
