If you are still using your old Apple IIgs, then you may be relieved to know that after about 22 years...

Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system

I have a IIgs in a closet somewhere hiding from the wife who wants to clear it out... Also has two 3.5" floppy drives and a 5 1/4".  Plus one of those "boat-anchor" Apple 2 printers with 2 spare ribbons.

There must be a use for these somewhere....aren't they about a mission to some planet?? I would gladly donate them for the control module...

I passed this on to the NSA. They'll use it to make government computers more secure.  Devilish2.gif

Bob:  About 3 years ago I took on a project for a neighbor/friend that required a large effort to make some sense out of  some writings that originated  with a iigs. The long/short of it is I surprisingly found a very large community out there that still uses those things.  I am currently in Alaska on my wife's MBP and all the info i have on that project resides on my MBP at home.  If you are interested I will be glad to pass along whatever I have upon my return Thursday or Friday.

Daryl, hope you are enjoying Alaska as much as Judy, our best friends, and I did many years ago! wink.gif

The folks who developed the ][gs update are at <Call-A.P.P.L.E.>/ They've been around since the beginning of Apple. I was actually a subscriber to the monthly magazine and even visited their retail, members-only store in Seattle. I think that's the only magazine I ever put an add for a Grade Book program I wrote for my wife! I still have a copy of one of those magazines! "Apple Puget Sound Program Library Exchange is surely the oldest User Group still active! laugh.gif

Locally, we had a fellow who bought every Apple ][ he could find. He repaired them and resold them to folks who still used them to run machinery that no other platform bothered to write the apps they needed. He did the same for early Macs! A "dying market" takes on a whole new connotation? His garage was literally a museum of early Apple computers! Although he's moved back to Oklahoma, he's still on-line at <Operator Headgap> (the "headgap" part comes from his interest in automobiles).
